Troy Bishop Troy Bishop
Engineer, E.I., G.C., Florida Atlantic University - BS in Civil Engineering

The Collegiate High School was the catalyst that set me up for success. From the first day I attended, the school helped me to achieve scholastic progress quicker and easier than my friends from other high schools. The classes were interesting, the professors cared about their students and were very knowledgeable, and the staff was highly attentive. The school encouraged my mathematical interests, and after graduating from CHS I was accepted at Florida Atlantic University. The best part was my very first year in college I was able to take labs, field trips, and other classes directly related to my major, while freshmen had to wait for years. I can positively say that the Collegiate High School enabled me to spend my entire college career studying my major in-depth without distraction. Recently, I received my Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, my General Contractor's building license, as well as certification as a Florida Engineer-in-Training. I am now a Department Manager at Engineering Express in South Florida and hope to soon have my Professional Engineering license. All of this started with one decision -- to attend the Collegiate High School.

I went on to pursue my lifelong goal of becoming a physician and earned my BS from the UWF. I will be graduating medical school in 2010 and plan to begin an Internship in Dermatology at Largo Medical Center in Largo, Florida. ...CHS taught me to focus on setting and achieving lifelong goals, and gave me the tools required to attain them.

Eric Jernigan
University of Web Florida

Bachelor of Arts graduate

If you're serious about exploring the options available to you in life and would like guidance from faculty members who actually care about where you end up and encourage free thinking, this is the place for you. The environment is safe and friendly . . . by the time I graduated, I was in love with every aspect of the school, was learning and thinking on levels I had never imagined before, had formed valuable relationships with nearly all of the faculty members, and made dozens of friends . . .

Angela Piccione
University of Notre Dame

I learned before I got to college what to expect from college classes . . . for me it worked as a really good transition. The school isn't for everyone . . . don't do it just for the free college credit. Do it because you want to be in an accelerated environment around other accelerated high school students and immersed into a college environment.. . . it offers a very unique learning experience.

Cassie Casiano
Graduate student in English Literature, Florida State University

My experience at the Collegiate High School prepared me for my current pursuits in a way no ordinary high school could. The responsibility that comes with working at your own pace in college, and especially in graduate school, was learned at the CHS. I currently teach college freshmen at FSU and watch them scramble to deal with this sudden responsibility in their first semesters at college. In many cases, it's more than they can handle. CHS students are eased into the self responsibility in high school, thus minimizing the stressful adjustment period.
