When I think about my time at CHS, words like community, great education, independence, preparation, and maturity come to mind. The work done at CHS prepared me for the workload in college and the level of freedom and accountability was huge in the transition to college independence.

I love the social atmosphere here. Everyone is so welcoming. In my previous high school if you chose one set of friends, you couldn't hang out with anyone else. Here, everyone is friends with everyone. There is no set schedule for classes that everyone has to take; schedules are personalized for each individual.

The Collegiate High is a great environment for any student who takes their education seriously and enjoys a small school environment. . . . here you are not tied down . . . and there is a sense of independence and freedom.

Having a laptop computer was a definite appeal, plus the setting is great. The teachers treat you like adults. I feel like they're not just teachers but friends. There's more work than traditional high school, but the learning environment is relaxed and not intimidating. The classes are smaller and I can take extra courses like guitar or voice with the college instructors.

I heard many good things about this school from others before I applied for admission. I thought getting an AA degree now would be a good opportunity. I love the small school environment. Everyone is friendly and the instructors know us by name. This is definitely a wonderful experience!

Here the teachers are positive and everyone is goal oriented. It's easy to make friends in a small school. You don't have the distractions public school's have like discipline problems or crowded classrooms. As a career, I want to go into law and I know I have a lot of years ahead. This school allows me to get a jump start on it.

Architecture Major, Auburn University

My decision to attend the Collegiate High School changed me/my life. I am currently in the College of Architecture at the University of Auburn, and I would not be here today if it weren't for my decision to attend Collegiate HS. First, I found my talent in design during my years at CHS, and I was prepared for college life which has given me an edge over some of my peers. The Auburn architecture program is intense, so having almost all of my general classes out of the way has lightened my load and allowed me to focus mainly on my dreams. . .
